Console silicon. Xbox Series X|S use custom AMD APUs fabricated by TSMC (Taiwan); a June 2026 multi-year AMD co-engineering deal continues this for next-gen Xbox silicon.1 No Israeli-domiciled vendor was identified in the console silicon supply chain.

Content moderation. Xbox player-safety is powered by Community Sift / TwoHat (a Canadian company Microsoft acquired in 2021); Xbox’s November 2024 transparency report cited AutoMod handling 1.2 million cases.23 No Israeli-domiciled moderation vendor was identified in the Xbox stack.

Activision/King mobile ad-tech - unresolved. King (Candy Crush; under Microsoft Gaming via the 2023 Activision Blizzard acquisition) operates mobile games on third-party ad networks. ironSource Ltd was Israeli-domiciled (Tel Aviv, 2010) and merged into Unity in November 2022, continuing as an Israel-domiciled Unity subsidiary (~850 Israel staff) before Unity closed the ironSource Ad Network effective 30 April 2025.4567 AppsFlyer (Herzliya, Israel) is a mobile-attribution company industry sources list Activision among its clients.89 However, no public documentation confirms that King’s Candy Crush titles specifically integrate ironSource/LevelPlay or AppsFlyer SDKs; despite industry-wide use of these tools, a verified King/Activision-title-level integration could not be established. These relationships are unresolved pending SDK-stack disclosure.

Surveillance, Biometrics & Retail Technology

AnyVision (historical, divested 2020). Microsoft’s M12 venture arm (parent, not gaming) invested in the Israeli facial-recognition firm AnyVision, whose technology was used at Israeli West Bank checkpoints; after a campaign and an external audit (led by former US AG Eric Holder), Microsoft divested in March 2020.1011 Not a current Xbox-division vendor relationship.

Kinect / PrimeSense (historical, ended 2013). The Xbox 360 Kinect used depth-sensing licensed from the Israeli firm PrimeSense; Microsoft did not acquire PrimeSense (Apple did, in 2013, ~$360m) and moved Xbox One Kinect to in-house technology.1213 No ongoing Israeli vendor relationship arises.

No public evidence identified of Israeli-domiciled biometrics or retail-surveillance vendors in the current Xbox gaming stack.

Cloud Infrastructure, Data Residency & Sovereign Cloud Participation

Xbox Cloud Gaming on Azure - shared parent infrastructure [FLAGGED: PARENT]. Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud) runs exclusively on Microsoft Azure - parent infrastructure, not gaming-division-owned.14 Microsoft launched the Azure Israel Central region (~2023, $1–1.5bn investment) serving Israeli public-sector and enterprise customers;1516 Xbox Cloud Gaming is available in Israel,17 and xCloud pairs users to the nearest Azure datacentre,18 so Israeli xCloud users may plausibly be served from Azure Israel Central - but this is shared-parent-infrastructure, not an Xbox-specific Israeli-military tie.

Azure and the Israeli military [FLAGGED: PARENT]. Reporting (August 2025) alleged Azure was used by Unit 8200 to store 11,500+ TB of intercepted Palestinian communications; the IMOD bought ~$10m of Microsoft engineering support and $1.7m of consulting (Oct 2023–Jun 2024), with Israeli-military Azure usage up 155% (Jun 2023–Apr 2024).192021 On 25 September 2025 Microsoft ceased specified IMOD Azure subscriptions after its internal review.22 These are parent contracts; no evidence places gaming-division infrastructure or personnel in IMOD-related Azure deployments.

Defence, Intelligence & Security Sector Technology Relationships

Xbox controller in the IAI Carmel AFV programme. Israel Aerospace Industries revealed (2020) that its Carmel armoured-fighting-vehicle prototype used a standard Microsoft Xbox One controller as its operator interface, chosen for familiarity to young soldiers.2324 This is documented use of off-the-shelf commodity Xbox hardware in an IDF weapons-development programme; Microsoft did not contract with IAI for it - the controller is commodity hardware - but it represents reputational linkage between the Xbox brand and an Israeli weapons programme.

Microsoft Israeli cybersecurity acquisitions [FLAGGED: PARENT]. Microsoft Corporation acquired Israeli cyber firms (Aorato 2014, Adallom 2015, Secure Islands 2015, Hexadite 2017, CyberX 2020), all integrated into Microsoft enterprise/cloud security.252627 No public evidence indicates any are integrated into the Xbox gaming platform stack. Unit 8200/Unit 81/Mamram/Ofek Azure usage is likewise a parent matter.28

AI, Algorithmic & Autonomous Systems

Azure OpenAI / military use [FLAGGED: PARENT]. Reporting indicates ~25% of Israeli-military Azure AI consumption involved GPT-4 via Azure OpenAI; a parent-company matter.29 Xbox’s AutoMod / Community Sift moderation AI is operated by the gaming division and TwoHat (Canadian); no Israeli-domiciled AI vendor was identified in the Xbox gaming AI stack.30 Ludeo (Israeli gaming-AI startup) hired a former Activision CRO in 2025 - a personnel connection, not a vendor or technology relationship.31

Technology Ecosystem & R&D Footprint

No public evidence identified of Xbox Game Studios, ZeniMax/Bethesda, or Activision Blizzard King maintaining gaming-specific R&D offices or studios in Israel. Microsoft’s broader Israel R&D presence (and free software to Ariel University in the occupied West Bank) is a parent matter, flagged.3233 The PrimeSense/Kinect relationship ended in 2013 with no continuing R&D tie.34

Civil Society Scrutiny & Regulatory History

The BDS national committee launched a formal Xbox boycott (April 2025) predicated on Microsoft’s Azure/AI military infrastructure, targeting Game Pass, Minecraft, Call of Duty, Candy Crush, and Xbox hardware.3536 Over 2,000 Microsoft employees signed “No Azure for Apartheid,” with multiple firings over protests (2024–2025).37383940 The Arkane Lyon STJV union open letter (August 2025) demanded Microsoft terminate IMOD contracts.41 At Gamescom 2025, Xbox spokespeople shut down Israel-ties questions directed at an Obsidian developer.42 Human Rights Watch (October 2025) called on Microsoft Corporation to avoid contributing to rights abuses.43 Microsoft terminated specified IMOD access on 25 September 2025 and removed its Israeli subsidiary head.44 No equivalent gaming-division relationship or disciplinary action was identified.
